Angle: Hold the tool at a 15 to 45-degree angle to the skin. You want it almost flat to gently glide, not perpendicular (90 degrees), which can drag the skin.
Direction: Always use upward and outward strokes, following the natural pathways of your face, generally moving toward your ears and down your neck.
Start at the neck: Begin by clearing the path for lymphatic drainage with a few strokes down the sides of the neck to the collarbone.
